Food Network host Ben Vaughn offers helpful restaurant food safety tips to avoid food poisoning when dining out.

It doesn't matter how fancy and white-tablecloth a restaurant is; if the staff doesn't follow good food safety practices, there is a risk for food poisoning. "You can get foodborne illness from any type of restaurant—from the lowest level of the mom-and-pop all the way to the fine dining restaurant. It's about who's operating these restaurants and their standards and how they practice them," says celebrity chef Ben Vaughn, host of Food Network's Health Inspectors. Vaughn, who makes his living helping restaurants clean up all sorts of health inspection violations, is the featured expert in the above video.
